Windows XP/Vista/7

  • Click this link to download: JGR for Windows
  • Double-click install_jgr.exe to begin installation.
  • [Windows Vista/7] Click yes or enter the administrator password.
  • Click next at the Welcome to the JGR Setup Wizard page.
  • Click next to select the default installation location.
  • Place a check next to "Create a desktop icon," then click next.
  • Finally, click Install on the Ready to Install page.

Mac OSX (10.6 and 10.7 only)

  • Click this link to download: JGR for Mac
  • Double-click Install_JGR.dmg. Drag the JGR icon into your Applications folder (or wherever you choose to store applications).
  • Click on the JGR icon to run.
  • You will be prompted to install the GDAL and PROJ frameworks if you haven't already:
    • Use all defaults by selecting Continue where possible.
    • Be sure to Accept the terms of use.
    • Click Install to finish the installation process for each GDAL and PROJ.
  • JGR will open when the installation has completed.

Mac OSX (10.5 Leopard only)

  • Click this link to download: JGR for Leopard
  • Double-click Install_JGR_Leopard.pkg.
  • Click Continue.
  • Click Continue and Accept the license terms.
  • Click Install to finish installation.
  • The JGR application will be located in your Applications folder. Drag it to your dock for easy access.

Troubleshooting

Due to it's ability to be installed on a number of operating systems and operating system versions, the Deducer installation might need a bit of help. Below are common error messages and what can be done to resolve them. If you cannot find an error message you are receiving or would like more help, please contact: mobilize-support@cs.ucla.edu

  • Windows XP: "You must be logged in as an administrator when installing this program"; Windows Vista/7: "To continue, type an administrator password, and then click Yes"; Mac OSX: "The Item JGR can't be moved because "Applications" can't be modified"
These three messages are all displayed when you do not have sufficient administrator privileges to run the installer. Please contact your device administrator for help.

  • "Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\Program Files\JGR". Error 5: Access is denied."
This issue may be seen if you have recently updated to the latest version of Java. Please reboot your system and try again.
